The imagery of the poster explores the visual lexicon of instruction manuals alluding to the IKEA Effect: a psychological phenomenon in which users put more value into something they have partially created.

This book is not complete without the audience’s participation. Yearly catalog for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Visual Communication department and the work produced by the students. It comes in the form of an A1 sized poster, with creases, perforations, and instructions for the user to build up the book by themselves, thus creating a collaboration between designer and audience.
